The new BMW 745I is a major leap forward in the luxury segment. The new 7 is equipped with more than 60 new features and enhancements, is extremely high in performance, and sports a radical departure for BMW in body design and styling.
The task was to create a web site for the new 7 that would generate excitement about a car considered to be the most advanced in its segment. And do this without showing the car in its entirety or doing anything that might preempt its introduction at the Frankfort Auto Show in September 2002.
Using the web as the primary communication media to introduce the new 7, BMW invited pre-qualified customers and owners via emails to view the car online. Every two weeks, BMW released another chapter revealing the features and advances made in the styling, technology and performance/safety features of the new 7.
The sites' design focuses on providing users with a visual and sensory experience of the car and how its advanced features impact performance and affect driver satisfaction. Large scale imagery, sound fx, video, Flash animation and downloadable PDA content, are used to create an exciting site that is rich in information and fun to use. A site that brings users back again and again to see the new 7 during the six months prior to its debut at the Frankfort Auto Show.
