Original Par Plumbing Logo c1975 designed by David Enock

The construction industry has changed and is now predominantly made up of large conglomerates that run huge projects. Management of retail, commercial, residential and industrial properties has changed as well, and is now handled by management groups with many properties in their portfolios.

In response to this growth phenomenon, Par, with its rich 80 year history, is continuing to build a larger organization. In 2001, Par, The Plumbing Company acquired Schwarz A/C (also, in business 80 years) to form The Par Group, one of the largest Plumbing, Heating and Cooling companies in the northeast.

Enock Interactive was contracted to organize and create an enterprise wide corporate identity program. The strategy was to leverage Par's history and visibility in the New York metropolitan area while introducing Schwarz A/C, a company somewhat less known, and the The Par Group, a newly formed corporate entity.

The ubiquitous Par, finger in the pipe logo, speaks of the company's ability to provide fast, efficient service and to end whatever problems may exist. Similarly, with Schwarz, The Heating and Cooling Company, the concrete snowflake and heat flame are symbols that promise the expected results. Though Par and Schwarz are now divisions of The Par Group, they are best known in the construction industry by their individual names and will continue to be marketed that way. Despite their fame, each company was called upon to clone a piece of itself and contribute it to the new parent company logo. The result-a drop, a flame and a snowflake accompany The Par Group.

In addition to new logos for The Par Group and Schwarz, the program includes the corporate web site, a direct mail series and a marketing and sales brochure. To reinforce the message at new construction and repair sites, Par and Schwarz trucks and the uniforms worn by technicians and personnel now reflect the reality of The Par Group, which is now the largest, Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, Company in the northeast.
