1957 - 1962
The History of Enock Interactive begins in 1957 when David
Enock, after receiving his formal training in advertising and
design, goes to work for Brownjohn, Chermayeff & Geismar.
Influenced by the early work of A.M.Cassandre and the Bauhaus
and the belief that creative design enhances the way we
communicate, David becomes involved in ground-breaking work
on major projects such as the Chase Manhattan Bank corporate
identity, signage for the United Airlines terminal at Kennedy
Airport and Pepsi-Cola Annual Reports. During the early 1960's
Brownjohn, Chermayeff & Geismar is one of the first design and
communications companies to establish the importance of design
in mass communications in the United States.
1962 - 1985
With the founding of his own company, Eisenman & Enock, David
creates one of the first truly integrated design and advertising
agencies. Firmly rooted in the principles of communications
designs, he and his partner Stanley Eisenman, succeed in creating
sophisticated advertising, packaging, annual reports and collateral
materials for major corporations, museums, consumer goods
companies and retailers. Clients include the Pepsi-Cola Company,
IBM, Simon & Schuster, McCall's Magazine, Mead Paper, Suffolk
Country Federal Savings and Loan, and the American Federation
of the Arts. The company designs the Museum of Modern Art
appointment calendar as well as packaging for Ovaltine, both of
which gain critical and public acclaim. David is named chairman
of The First Communications Expo, an international exhibition and
series of lectures by renowned art dierctors, designers and
copywriters. David creates the Pel brand identity for
Warner Communications. From the mid-seventies to the
mid-eighties, the company's client list grows to include TWA,
American Express, the American Cancer Society, PepsiCo, Wilson
Sporting Goods, Izod Lacoste, BMW, and The Metropolitan
Museum of Art, successfully creating a body of work spanning
more than 25 years.
1986-1992
David forms Enock based on the same principles of creating an
integrated company grounded in excellent communications but
with the notion that the technological revolution that was taking
place would significantly change the way we do business. That
same year, Chris Enock joins the company to spearhead the
transition as computers enter the design workplace. The computer
becomes the medium of choice for the processes and procedures
for creating communications. During this time Enock designs the
packaging system for New Balance athletic shoes, and an
integrated international marketing campaign for the 96th NADI
(National Association of Display Industries) Exposition. The
Nasdaq Stock Market selects Enock to design its corporate identity
and collateral programs.
With the advent of the cd-rom and the internet, the computer as
an electronic delivery medium for communications becomes a
reality. In addition to corporate identity programs, and sales and
marketing communications materials, Enock creates and produces
some of the most advanced electronic communications on the
web and CD.
1993 - 1997
During this period Enock begins design and development work on
data visualization for Nasdaq MarketSite, a 55' long interactive
display of real-time domestic and international financial markets
activity. MarketSite is launched and quickly becomes a venue for
live broadcasts on market activity by CNBC Business News,
CNNfn, and other financial media. The company continues to
grow its creative and technological services, forming strategic
partnerships with two leading software engineering companies,
to create and build web-based tools. Enock completes a
customizable laptop presentation tool for Nasdaq's business
development group. Enock designs and provides programming
services for Nasdaq-Online, a password protected web site of high
level financial information and peer analytics used by senior-level
executives of Nasdaq listed companies.
1998 - 2000
The company designs and programs TIAA-CREF's Asset Allocation,
a web-based portfolio management tool, web sites for the Eastern
France Tourism Board and New York Stock Exchange Specialist
Firm, Benjamin Jacobson & Sons and creates for ADP Financial
Services a marketing communications program and the tag-line
that prophecies "The Future is Automatic". Matthew Enock, art
director and designer, rejoins the company after a two-year hiatus.
He and Gordon White, executive producer, spearhead the
company's growth in integrated design and technology. Ei creates,
choreographs and programs the opening launch, new year's eve
celebration and the signature open and close of the trading day
for the Nasdaq MarketSite Tower, the world's largest digital led
display in Times Square. Enock Interactive continues to provide
web solutions and collateral design services to clients Nasdaq,
TIAA-CREF, IFCE, Data Downlink Corporation and adds Nextel,
Primex Trading, Portal B, Meridian Emerging Markets and MyTrack
among others, to its growing client roster. Enock's work appears
in InternetWorld, Publish, Art Direction, Graphics USA, Creativity,
How Magazine, and Asian Packaging. Numerous design awards
and commendations are won by the company for its websites,
marketing communications materials, corporate identity
programs, and logo designs.
2001 - Present
The company, now known as Enock Interactive (Ei), is selected by
Citibank's GECD group, to design the interface and information
architecture for CitiDirect, Citibank, N.A.'s online business banking
system, and by TIAA-CREF to create an identity and web site for
TIAA-CREF Institute, the research and education arm of the parent
company. IFCE, The International Financial Center & Exchange
engages Ei to design a website and integrated marketing
campaign while, Hydro-Electric Associates, a consolidator of
national construction companies, chooses Ei to create an
integrated marketing campaign and website.
BMW North America engages Ei to design the micro-web site
introducing the new 7 series, and a BMW wheel configurator that
allows customers to select a set of wheels and see them on their
car. The Nasdaq Stock Market creates SuperMontage the next
generation in order display and execution and hires Ei to design
and develop an electronic presentation tool and web site to
introduce the completely redesigned system.
